(Spokane, Wash.)– Can’t wait for Inlander Restaurant Week? You don’t have to! Diners will have their first chance to sample some of the menu items featured during the highly anticipated First Bite for Second Harvest, presented by Dairy Farmers of Washington. The third-annual fundraiser will be held Thursday, Jan. 31 at Barrister Winery from 6-8 pm. Participating Inlander Restaurant Week eateries such as Downriver Grill, Palouse Bar & Grill, Honey Eatery and Social Club, Max at Mirabeau, Timber Gastro Pub and more will provide a taste of one of their courses at the event. The evening will also feature artisan cheese from Washington State creameries, and Washington wine from Barrister. Live music is being offered by Kyle Richard.

Tickets are on sale now at for $31 — the same price as the three-course, prix fixe Inlander Restaurant Week meals. All of the proceeds from the event will go directly to Second Harvest in support of its mission to provide healthy food to those who need it most in the Inland Northwest.

First Bite for Second Harvest also serves as the official kick-off to Inlander Restaurant Week. All of the 100+participating restaurants’ menus will be revealed at the event, and guests will be the first to receive the official printed guide. Inlander Restaurant Week takes place Feb. 21-March 2. Participating restaurants will provide three course meals at the set price of $21 or $31 during the 10-day eating extravaganza.

As an Inlander Restaurant Week sponsor, and a year-round benefactor of Second Harvest, supporting an event to fight hunger is a natural fit for Dairy Farmers of Washington. “Milk is one of the most requested items at food banks across the country but is rarely donated,”  says Jeff Steele, with Dairy Farmers of Washington. “Washington dairy families in partnership with Second Harvest, work together to provide everyone access to healthy nutritious foods like milk, fruits, cheese, vegetables, whole grains and protein.”
