Nutrition That Works For You

We have been big fans of Kairos Meal Prep for a while now. It’s always been a dream of mine to have a personal chef, and this is probably as close as i’ll ever get!

You can place your order for as many meals as you’d like per week, choose the recipes, then they’ll cook it all up, pack it, deliver it to your doorstep and you can have lunch and dinner done for the whole week! Just reheat in the microwave for a minute and a half. Not to mention, they also share the nutrition facts for each meal so you can stay on track with meal plans, diets, macros, or just be more aware of what you’re consuming. Don’t even get me started on their Peanut Butter Protein Cookies.

We got to sit down and interview them recently and wanted to share their fun story with y’all! But first, take our word for it, their food service is pretty incredible, so don’t be shy about placing your first order and use code ‘ Spokaneeats’ for free delivery for the whole month of October!

What is Kairos?

How it works …

Place an order online at KairosMealPrep.com. Here you select from a wide variety of our signature dishes. Then, we carefully prepare, cook, and package your meals. You get to choose whether to pick up your meals or have them delivered to you. When you’re ready, heat it and eat it! They can be warmed in either the microwave or oven. You can place a one-time order or utilize their weekly subscription to make it even easier on you to eat these nutritious meals without having to cook them. The weekly subscription is completely customizable. You choose from 3-7 days per week to have meals and then choose between 1-4 meals per day. They always keep signature dishes on the menu, but they also add new meals every month to help switch things up for the consumer.

An example of some of the meals you can enjoy? Taco Salad, Tri Tip and Asparagus, Turkey Meatballs, BBQ Chicken Stir Fry, Beef & Broccoli Bowl, Beef Street Tacos, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Carne Asada Bowl, Casher Stir Fry Chicken, Citrus Shrimp & Veggie Bowl, Ground Turkey Veggie Rice Bowl, Hamburger Bowl and so much more! Hungry yet? 😉

Your background/story?

Kairos Meal Prep is owned by Daniel & Zach. Both had careers in health and fitness. They met as personal trainers in Spokane and noticed that many of their clients would work hard in the gym but had a difficult time sticking to meal plans.

What was your defining moment/inspiration?

While working together at a gym, we slowly came to the realization that people weren’t getting the best results because they weren’t eating the right types of food. So, we joked with our clients that we were going to make them food and force them to eat it. As it turns out, they were really interested in the idea.

So, in January of 2020, we started the business, partnered with a few gyms in the area, and then made some serious pivots when the pandemic hit. This roadblock allowed us to use our service to reach more than just gym goers. We were able to provide quality, healthy meals for anyone and deliver it directly to their homes.

Advice you would give to someone wanting to start a business in Spokane.

Customer service is BY FAR the most important thing. Spokane is really a community that takes pride in local business. Treat your customers like family and you will be successful!

What sets you apart from competition?

We will literally do anything to make sure we have good customer reviews.

Meals have been spilled and we’ve replaced and then added an extra meal to the order.

We try and think of the situation from the customer’s perspective and if that happened to us, how would we want a company to fix the situation.

What is your favorite Kairos meal?

The tri tip and asparagus is a best seller and AMAZING. The flank steak stir fry and turkey meatballs are also fan favorites. We are now offering a Pumpkin Spice stir fry that is prefect for the change in season. And the peanut butter protein cookies are a must! We actually sell those at Shotzy’s Coffee on Pines, and at Kitefit gym in Post Falls.

What’s next for you?

We just want to continue expanding our reach in the community. With the pandemic, we understand that there has been distance within the community, and we want to reconnect with people and help them be their best selves.

Where do you like to eat around Spokane for a healthy alternative?

Zach: When I go out to dinner, I know that I’m gonna have something I wouldn’t normally have. But I try to pick a high protein option, so I get filled up and don’t feel the need to eat dessert.

Daniel- I like going to The Onion & Twigs. At Twigs, I always like their steak salad. But I also try and get a high protein option.

If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?

Daniel: Jet ski, a villa, a personal chef

Zach: Water jug, big sharp knife, sunscreen

What is the last thing you watched on tv?

Daniel: The Office, you can shuffle any episode and I’ll be happy. Or modern family.

Zach: I don’t think I have a choice but to agree with Daniel 🙂

Bonus Advice:

For anyone thinking about hoping into a fitness plan mindset is everything. You have to start somewhere, so you might as well jump in sooner than later.

We couldn’t agree more! Here at Spokane Eats, we’re always on the go and always trying to eat a nutritious meal that’s going to fill us up and make us feel energized!

Kairos Meal Prep has been the perfect option for us. And we believe it’s really the perfect option for anyone looking for great food that’s good for you. Also, you really can’t beat the convenience of someone else cooking your meals, boxing them up for you, AND telling you the nutrition facts?! This is a dream come true for so many in the Spokane area!
